How It Works
Inventory, normalize, enrich, analyze
- First, using various discovery methods (agent, API connectors, browser extension, SSO, etc.), we obtain a comprehensive inventory of on-premises, SaaS and cloud applications
- Then this data is fed to the Data Intelligence Service, where it is normalized and enriched
- The resulting output of this clean and enriched data is insights to help you reduce spend and mitigate risk

Yes, there are out-of-the-box connectors to the most common ITSM platforms, and the connector for ServiceNow is certified on the latest release. Yes, this service leverages AI, alongside human curation, to improve the quality, breath, and timeliness of our technology catalogue. The service automatically categorizes, catalogues and identifies new software versions and license models leveraging AI. This improves customer outcomes by using AI to help categorize applications, provide application descriptions and linkage to discovery evidence. Most importantly, our content team validates the results to ensure accuracy.
With more than 3,000 customers using the Data Intelligence Service, Snow offers a crowd-sourced service for automatically updated recognition signatures and rules, for both newly discovered software and cloud services. These are delivered automatically to customers via daily updates. The global software recognition database grows constantly and is globally one of the largest sources for identification of commercial software. The Snow Data Intelligence Service is immediately activated with the import of inventory data. This task is independent of the chosen inventory technology and the software recognition database is updated automatically every 24 hours.
The Private Application feature of Snow Atlas gives customers the ability to add custom applications to Snow Atlas so that they can easily discover custom applications and perform optimization and compliance analysis.
