The product has numerous capabilities to measure indirect access which customers can use to gain visibility on indirect access, assess license compliance risks, and determine whether named user or digital document licensing is more cost-effective. Specific capabilities include:

  • Activity checks – work time, work volume, cross-component usage, to identify potential indirect access (technical) users
  • External accesses – RFC and HTTP access to/from SAP systems

SAP certifies successful integration of Snow Optimizer for SAP with SAP solutions. Snow Optimizer for SAP is essentially an SAP add-on written in native SAP language – ABAP. It lives and breathes within the protected SAP environment.

Snow Optimizer for SAP Software has a built-in contract management capability where you can enter and maintain all the SAP products of your license contracts. This is regardless of whether it is a named user license, an engine or a database. Most SAP engines are measured by SAP’s system measurement (USMM) transaction. Our product collects and aggregates all system measurement data for the connected satellite systems. Additional formulas can be used to combine measured data. For engines that cannot be measured by USMM (engines with metrics such as revenue or number of company employees) you can self-declare their usage in the Snow Optimizer for SAP’s contract management section or use the product-specific inventory detection (classes). Our product also provides customers with an engine compliance analysis report to monitor your license position.
