Flexera’s commitment to the environment and sustainability

While Flexera’s business doesn’t require the use of the things that typically have the greatest impact on the environment—such as shipping and packaging, hazardous chemicals, raw materials or operating manufacturing facilities—we’re committed as a responsible corporate citizen to making positive contributions to the planet wherever possible. Part of these efforts include measuring our carbon footprint and working toward becoming carbon neutral.

In that spirit, we’ve already taken steps to minimize our environmental impact by:

Embracing a remote-working culture, which reduces our average in-office days per person
Conducting business travel only when necessary

Watershed: A sustainability program with an impact

As one of our key company-wide strategic initiatives, we’ve partnered with Watershed, an enterprise climate platform that allows companies to measure their full Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions, plan and execute on steps to reduce emissions, and share results. Watershed will help Flexera accelerate the fight against climate change by providing a comprehensive look at all our emissions, then providing analysis and recommendations to reduce those emissions. By measuring our Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions, we'll set a reliable baseline for future progress. This allows us to track and mitigate pollution while also monitoring and managing carbon emissions—ultimately, working toward achieving carbon neutrality and creating a resilient and sustainable ecosystem.

Flexera began measuring its carbon emissions in 2022 and has recently completed its 2023 measurement, which includes both Flexera and Snow Software emissions post Flexera’s acquisition of Snow Software. Flexera-specific emissions decreased by 8% from 2022 to 2023, and the combined Flexera/Snow total emissions for 2023 are:

Scope 1: 162 tCO2e
Scope 2: 781 tCO2e
Scope 3: 17,834 tCO2e

Actionable, global sustainability with Ecovadis

Ecovadis Silver Sustainability Rating 2023

In line with our commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles, we’re proud to announce our ongoing participation in the Ecovadis assessment, a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation of our ESG performance. This proactive engagement underscores our dedication to transparency, accountability and continuous improvement in key areas that shape our impact on the planet, society and corporate governance.

With continued engagement with Ecovadis and sustainability consultants, we have improved our Ecovadis rating to a Silver rating of 60, putting Flexera in the top 25% of all companies rated by Ecovadis.

Ecovadis continues to play a critical role in highlighting areas of focus for Flexera, with that insight being turned into action in conjunction with our other partners assisting in our sustainability efforts.

SBTi: Our promise for ambitious climate action

Flexera has sent a letter to SBTi pledging to work toward becoming carbon neutral. We’re participating in the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) because we recognize the critical role businesses play in addressing climate change. By committing to set science-based targets aligned with the latest climate science, we are committing to do our part in limiting global warming to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels, as outlined in the Paris Agreement. Through our involvement in SBTi, we’re not only demonstrating our commitment to environmental sustainability but also ensuring that our efforts are grounded in rigorous scientific principles. By committing to set targets and transparently tracking our progress, we’re driving meaningful action toward a more resilient and sustainable future for our planet and generations to come.
